And while he is at it, he can stop telling women what to do. If they want to wear makeup to go to the store, why the hell does he care?

^ This. I mean, I like make up. It’s not about everyone else, it’s about what makes /me/ feel good. Because sometimes it’s /nice/ to put on a mask of sorts, or pamper yourself a little, or just go ‘I like the way eyeliner looks, I think I’d like some today’. And I’m sure there’s a reason for it, but it feels so contradictory that he’s lecturing about ‘natural beauty’ while simultaneously bombarding us with images of airbrushed, photoshopped girls. 

But yeah, it annoys the fuck out of me when people talk about make up like that. I know a guy who literally said that if he could he would ban all make up, and didn’t give a shit about why I might like to wear it. Not every single choice a girl makes is because she’s been brainwashed. Make up isn’t all that deceptive, and lets be honest, if you feel truly ugly without it, it doesn’t magic away all your insecurities.

I went and watched the whole damn video. He is lecturing women on not wearing makeup. That is fucked up. Policing how women look is never okay. The fact that some “progressive” guy does it doesn’t change the fact that it is incredibly problematic to tell women what to do. Sorry, we are not infants who need mommy and daddy to dress us. We are grown ass adults who can wear whatever the fuck we want and the amount of makeup we want.

if you don’t want to wear makeup, ok. if you think you look good without it, that’s good that you have confidence. but assuming someone only is wearing makeup because they’re brainwashed by society is pretty patronizing.
